Pojer e Sandri is one of the most impressive wineries in the Trento region. It was founded in 1975, when Fiorentino Sandri inherited a plot of land in the alpine valley of Faedo, to the east of the river Adige.  Fiorentino joined forces with his friend Mario Pojer, who had just graduated from the Agragrio de San Michele all'Adige, to turn that plot of land into thriving vineyards.

Pojer e Sandri produces an extensive range of wines, vinegars and distillates. The special terroir of the Faedo Valley creates complex and concentrated aromas in the grapes.  This high-quality fruit in turn produces precise, crystalline white wines and beautiful cold weather reds.  Pojer e Sandri’s white wines benefit especially from the dramatic diurnal shift between day and night, due in part to the winds from nearby Lake Garda. Today, Pojer e Sandri is internationally respected as an innovative and pioneering winery for its viticultural and vinification practices.

The founders possess an insatiable curiosity for developing new methods to improve quality.  An example of this boundless curiosity and experimentation is a patented method called "hyperreduction."  Hyperreduction involves washing the bunches of grapes in a nitrogen-rich and oxygen-depleted environment before pressing.  This allows for the preservation of the aromatic characteristics that naturally occur in their grapes.  After pressing, the grapes are fermented with natural yeasts that they collect throughout the year from on land before the harvest.
